• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment
• Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E and blood-thinning medications for one week prior if possible — do not stop any prescribed medications without speaking to your GP first
• Arrive with a clean face where possible
• Schedule your appointment at least 1 to 2 weeks before any important event to allow time for any swelling or bruising to fully settle
For the first 24 hours following treatment avoid:
• Alcohol
• Strenuous exercise
• Excessive heat including saunas, hot showers and steam rooms
• Pressure or massage to the treated area
• Skincare products containing AHAs, retinols or vitamin C
Specific aftercare instructions will be provided at your appointment as they vary depending on the treatment performed.
Redness, swelling and bruising are common following cosmetic treatment. The extent and duration varies between individuals and between treatment areas.
Some patients experience mild settling within a day or two, while others may experience bruising for up to 7 days or longer, particularly around the mouth.
It is best to avoid makeup for at least 12 hours following treatment. If makeup is needed sooner, a mineral or water-based formula is preferable.
